What is the Aldo Leopold Festival?
Les Cheneaux welcomes you to celebrate the legacy of Aldo Leopold — one of America’s most influential naturalists — during our festival, May 31st – June 4, 2023. Activities include paddling excursions, orchid and wildflower tours, birding trips, presentations, and many other nature-based activities. Experience the woods and water that formed Leopold’s early impressions of the natural world as we honor the mark he made on conservation and the environment.
Registration is now open.

About our Festival Poster
Local illustrator Katie Elbert has designed the annual poster for the Aldo Leopold Festival for the past 7 years. This year she has created another winner worth framing! This year's poster captures many of the plants, animals, and bird that participants will likely see during their nature based activities during the festival.
Festival posters will be available for sale at the Hessel School House while supplies last. A limited supply of past festival posters are also available.

A big thank you to our 2023 financial sponsors.
